Marshall originally joined Agile Rising in 2018 as a co-founder, senior consultant and enterprise agility coach.

He has over twenty-five years of business experience in software development, information technology, product management, across private and Government sectors. He has spent the past 14+ years focused on leading digital and organizational transformations. Throughout his career, he has performed in both technical and leadership roles as a consultant, teacher, and instructor, sr. executive, manager, software developer and architect, scrum master, product manager, program and project manager, and business owner responsible for the growth and fostering of environments where high-performing teams flourish as innovators.

As a senior information technology executive and professional, enterprise agility coach, and servant leader change agent, Marshall is passionate about driving positive, results-oriented digital and organizational transformations towards the Lean-Agile end game of comprehensive, organic business and organizational agility, learning culture, and innovation.

Marshall has traveled internationally (EMEA/APAC) to support customers in various technical, product, and leadership positions in coach, developer, scrum master, product manager, director, and executive roles.


Organizational Transformation & Leadership Experience

Marshall spends his time building the future of work with SAFe® as a Scaled Agile SPCT in good standing and SAFe Contributor. His areas of service as an SPCT are SAFe® Transformation Architect, SAFe® Trusted Advisor (consultant and coach), and SAFe® Trainer. He also performs in Executive Coaching, Organizational Design, Sensing & Change Orchestration, Lean-Agile Training & Coaching services. In the past decade, Marshall has led several Lean-Agile, Digital transformations, and Scaled Agile Framework for Lean Enterprises (SAFe) implementations. He most recently completed successful implementations of the SAFe and Lean-Agile practices, enterprise organizational change for the FAA, Emerson, the Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA); and is currently the lead enterprise agility coach for ongoing digital transformations at the NASA and the FAA.

Background

His passion for Lean and Agile began in the late 90’s when he worked with small businesses and the U.S. Air Force Air Logistics Center centers to build and develop business logistics and manufacturing applications (and other business software). Working in the ALC manufacturing and operations environment gave him the opportunity to discover Lean, Extreme Programming, and the Agile Manifesto for Software Development.

He participates as a partner of Agile Rising, owns a real estate investment company, is an owner-blogger- thought leader for blogagility.com, and also participates in several Lean-Agile communities of practice and Leadership meetups.

His certifications and expertise include Scaled Agile Framework for Lean Enterprises Practice Consultant Trainer (SPCT5), ICAgile Instructor, ICAgile Remote Agile Team Facilitation (ICATF), CTBME®, Flow Framework Professional, Agility Health Facilitator (AHF), OrgMindset Enterprise Coach (OMEC), (SAFe) 5.0 Program Consultant (SPC5) instructor and practitioner, SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe for Government Practitioner (SGP), SAFe Certified Exam Developer, SAFe Remote Trainer, Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), as well as over twenty-five years performing as a program and project management professional.

Marshall earned his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University, where he majored in Management Information Systems and Information Decision Sciences.
